John Buxton

John Buxton built his career in the construction industry as a hands-on owner-operator. He founded Legacy Roofing and grew it into one of the Top 100 roofing contractors in the United States before completing a private equity exit in 2019. Along the way, he navigated the challenges every entrepreneur knows: building teams, managing cash, protecting culture, serving customers, and making decisions that impact real people and families.

After his sale, John worked with private equity firms to better understand their business models and strategies. That experience, combined with his operational background, gives him a unique perspective to help business owners navigate the private equity landscape with clarity and confidence.

While proud of his own exit, John wished he had the knowledge he has now. Today, he uses those lessons to help business owners maximize value, improve deal terms, and plan a transition that protects what they built. He brings practical insight, founder empathy, and real-world experience to guide leaders through the process with confidence and control.
